Our Programs
Six integrated pillars designed to address the root causes of conflict and inequality in our communities.
Peace Building & Conflict Resolution
We facilitate structured peace dialogues, train community mediators and create safe inter-community exchange spaces that defuse tension before it escalates into violence.
Our peace-building work draws on restorative justice principles and Ubuntu philosophy. We believe that sustainable peace comes not from the suppression of conflict but from building the social infrastructure — trust, dialogue channels, shared identity — that allows communities to resolve differences constructively.
Key Activities
- Community peace forums and dialogue circles
- Peer mediation training for youth and adults
- Inter-community cultural exchange visits
- Early-warning and early-response networks
- Conflict mapping and community security analysis
- Restorative justice processes for post-conflict reconciliation
180+ dialogues held. 94% reduction in community conflict incidents in programme areas over five years.
Youth Empowerment
Our Youth Peace Leadership Academy equips young people aged 15–30 with leadership, entrepreneurship and life skills to become agents of positive change.
Young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow — they are the peace-builders of today. Our programme recognises that unemployed, disillusioned youth are among the most vulnerable to radicalisation. We offer a structured alternative: mentorship, skills, community and purpose.
Key Activities
- Youth Peace Leadership Academy (6-month programme)
- Vocational skills training in trades and technology
- Mentorship circles with community professionals
- Sports-for-peace tournaments and leagues
- Civic education and voter empowerment workshops
- Youth-led community projects and seed grants
650+ youth trained. 78% income-generating within 12 months of graduation.
Women's Support & Empowerment
Safe spaces, micro-finance groups, legal aid and psychosocial counselling create pathways for women and girls to live free from violence and poverty.
Women are disproportionately affected by conflict and poverty — and are disproportionately powerful as peace-builders when given the chance. We invest in women's full participation in community life, from economic empowerment to political representation.
Key Activities
- Safe-space women's support groups
- Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA)
- Legal aid and gender-based violence response
- Psychosocial counselling and trauma healing
- Women's leadership forums and civic engagement
- Girls' education and school retention programmes
1,200+ women supported. 60 VSLA groups managing KES 4M+ in collective savings.
Education & Literacy
We believe education is the most powerful peace-building tool. Our programmes keep children in school and equip adults with literacy and numeracy skills.
Education is both a right and a foundation for peaceful societies. We address barriers to learning at every level — from school fees to parent attitudes to physical access — with holistic, community-embedded solutions.
Key Activities
- After-school tutoring and remediation centres
- Adult literacy and numeracy classes
- School bursaries and scholarship programme
- Peace clubs in primary and secondary schools
- Library book drives and reading materials
- Parent-teacher community engagement forums
3,200+ children in school. 850 adults became literate through our evening classes.
Community Health
Mobile health clinics, mental health awareness campaigns and WASH infrastructure improve wellbeing in underserved communities.
Physical and mental health are inseparable from peace. Communities under economic and social stress carry enormous trauma. We address this holistically — from clean water and nutrition to counselling and psychosocial first aid.
Key Activities
- Mobile health clinics in remote communities
- Mental health awareness and trauma healing sessions
- Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) projects
- Nutrition education and supplementation
- HIV/AIDS awareness and stigma reduction
- Community health worker training and certification
8,500+ health interactions annually. 12 community boreholes and water points installed.
Environmental Stewardship
Healthy environments foster peaceful communities. We run tree planting, clean-up drives and climate education to build resilient, green neighbourhoods.
Environmental degradation fuels conflict over resources. We address the environmental drivers of community tensions while building shared stewardship as a bonding mechanism — working together on the land builds the trust needed for broader peace.
Key Activities
- Community tree planting and nursery projects
- Monthly clean-up and solid waste management drives
- Climate change education in schools and community forums
- Green energy awareness (solar, biogas, improved cookstoves)
- Environmental school clubs and competitions
- Mapping of natural resources to prevent conflict
25,000 trees planted since 2018. 18 organised community clean-up events per year.
